General
AeroSleep's mission is to offer all babies a safe and comfortable sleeping environment. In this way, your child can develop optimally and you can sleep soundly yourself.
Safe sleep is our passion and our life's work: we have been developing safe sleep products for over 30 years. It all started with our mattress protector with breathable 3D structure. Since then, thanks to high demand, we have expanded our range to include mattresses, fitted sheets, bed bumpers and pillows.
Safety means extensive testing. It therefore goes without saying that all our products are subjected to rigorous scientific checks. We have these tests carried out by independent research centers after our own quality control. In this way, we can confidently guarantee that we offer your baby a safe sleeping environment.
A baby needs a lot of sleep, and as a parent you are naturally only comfortable if you know that those naps are happening as safely as possible. With the standard advice on safe sleep and our breathable 3D technology, you will give your baby the safest sleep environment possible.
Safe sleeping in four steps:
1. The safest sleeping position for a baby is on their back.
2. A comfortable sleeping bag is the safest and most convenient way to keep your child warm at night. If you prefer to use a sheet, tuck it in tight at the bottom and put your child's feet at the foot of the bed.
3. Babies and small children need a firm mattress that they cannot sink into. This is important for free breathing and to protect against overheating. Mattresses made of polyurethane (such as cold foam) are firm enough and provide good air permeability and fast moisture transport.
4. Combine the firm mattress with a breathable AeroSleep mattress protector for the safest sleep combination. The 3D structure ensures that your child can always breathe freely, even if he or she rolls over. In addition, the mattress protector prevents overheating and keeps your child dry in case of accidents. Convenient and hypo-allergenic!
The AeroSleep mattress protector is available in various sizes and we even make it to measure for you, so your child can sleep safely. Would you like a made-to-measure mattress protector? Then contact our customer service.
If you do not yet have a mattress, an AeroSleep mattress package is ideal. These contain a high-quality baby mattress and our breathable mattress protector.
A standard mattress protector has an absorbent layer and a waterproof layer to keep moisture away from the mattress. On top of this, an AeroSleep mattress protector has a unique, knitted '3D structure' that offers many advantages.
1. The breathable mattress protector ensures that your child can breathe in every position. Yes, even when your little one is rolling on its tummy and pressing its nose into the mattress. That's because of the 3D layer. Wondering how it works? We are happy to explain!
2. Thanks to the 3D structure, your child does not sleep directly on the mattress, but always on a layer of air. This layer of air takes over the temperature of the room, reducing the risk of overheating.
3. The mattress protector immediately wicks away and traps moisture, so your child always lies dry.
4. The AeroSleep mattress topper not only protects the mattress, but also your child! The mattress protector is easy to apply, easy to wash and quickly dry. The mattress remains free of moisture and germs. And your child always sleeps on a wonderful layer of air, soft for their skin and anti-allergic.
This is what you need to make a safe bed for your baby or toddler:
- Mattress
- Mattress protector
- AeroSleep fitted sheet
You don't need a flannel and you also don't need to put a whitetowel under the head. A flannel or whooping towel closes off the openings and counteracts the effect of the breathable 3D structure.
Care
All AeroSleep products are easy to maintain and dry very quickly. They therefore do not need to be tumble-dried.

Fitted sheet and pillowcase
Washable at 60°
Wash with similar colours
Tip: wash in a laundry bag
Black lines can appear when dust particles enter the mattress protector during washing. You cannot remove the lines, but they do not reduce the effectiveness of the 3D layer. So don't worry, your child can still sleep safely on it.
Preventing black lines is how you do it:
There is always some dust in a house, but make sure the mattress protector is dust-free before washing and that there is no lint in the 3D structure. If the room is very dusty, vacuuming the protector can help.
Wash the protector in a clean washing machine in a pillowcase or laundry bag so that dust from other laundry cannot penetrate the 3D structure.
Yellow stains on the mattress itself (not on the cover) can be caused by UV rays. We can prevent yellowing by adding chemicals during the production process, but have deliberately chosen not to do so.
Due to the knitted structure, mattress protectors have a natural shrinkage margin of up to 2-3%. We have taken this into account when sizing them. It may help to wash the mattress protector at 40°C the first time.
Product questions
The difference is only the size. You can easily adjust the height of both cushions by removing or adding some foam again.
For children aged 1 to 2.5 years, we recommend the Small
For children aged 2.5 to 7 years, we recommend the Medium
A perforated fitted sheet is necessary to ensure the breathability of the 3D structure. The holes in the fabric allow air to circulate freely. A solid cotton sheet greatly reduces breathability. And when cotton gets wet, the fibres retain the moisture, so the fabric no longer allows air through at all. The AeroSleep fitted sheet is not only perforated but also made of polyester. So the fabric does not retain moisture, everything is immediately drained to the absorbent layer of the mattress protector, so your child can continue to breathe freely and stay dry. A must-have!
Want to try it out for it yourself? Lie face down on the mattress protector. With a perforated fitted sheet you can breathe freely, with a cotton fitted sheet it is more difficult. And with a wet cotton fitted sheet, it will be impossible.
When you order a mattress, we prepare it the same day in our warehouse. We put the mattress in a smaller box, which makes transport easier. We recommend unpacking and unrolling the mattress as soon as it is delivered. Be sure not to leave a mattress rolled up for more than 3 months, as this can cause slight changes in shape.
We understand your question, but no worries! Our team of experts subjected all mattresses to the necessary safety and ergonomic tests so that your child can sleep comfortably and safely. Most important is the resilience of the mattress and the material used.
Want to try it out for yourself? You can press the mattress with one finger, but with your flat hand it works a lot less well. Your child's weight is distributed over the entire body, so a firm, resilient but relatively thin mattress is sufficient.
The AeroSleep mattress protector is available in various sizes and also for rounded beds. To see all dimensions, click on 'Make your choice' on the product page of the mattress protector under Dimensions (cm).
Can't find the right size? Then contact customer service for a customised mattress protector.
A 3D mattress protector is included with every AeroSleep mattress. Do you already have a mattress in your home and want to add a safe 3D layer? Then you can buy the mattress protector separately.
Premium: helps with all typical baby ailments (reflux, earache, toothache...) because you can easily adjust the mattress to an inclined position.
Evolution: the mattress consists of high-quality hybrid foam for optimal back support.
Essential: our most price-conscious mattress, which consists of polyether for good back support.
You can introduce a pillow (size small) when your child is 1 years old. Does your child tuck a stuffed animal under its head? That's a clear sign that it's time for a pillow. Around the age of 2.5, you can switch to a medium pillow.
There are 2 layers of cold foam in the pillow to determine the height of the pillow. It is best to start with the pillow at the lowest position, so as not to overload your child's neck. To do this, remove one layer of cold foam from the pillow.
The AeroSleep bedbumper is currently mainly compatible with cots with bars on four sides. This is how the bed bumper sits most securely.
Does your child's bed have only 2 sides with bars? Then it's best to put the bed bumper between the mattress and the head and/or foot end.
The 3D layer of the mattress protector, fitted sheet and pillow (pillowcase) are made of polyester. You might wonder why we don't use a 'natural' fabric like cotton or bamboo? We have good reasons for that! The 3D layer needs a certain strength, for which we need a strong synthetic fibre. Therefore, a perforated fitted sheet made of polyester is essential to ensure the functioning of the breathable 3D structure. There are two reasons for this:
1. The holes in the fabric allow air to circulate freely. A solid cotton sheet greatly reduces breathability.
2. When cotton gets wet, the fibres retain the moisture, preventing the fabric from letting air through at all. Thanks to the combination of polyester and perforations, the AeroSleep fitted sheet does not retain moisture. It immediately drains everything to the absorbent layer of the mattress protector, so your child can always breathe freely and lie dry.
PES is completely harmless and contains no bisphenols. Did you know that all our AeroSleep products carry the highest Oeko-Tex 100 quality mark? That is the highest safety rating for textiles.
Polyester is hard-wearing and the fibres are not susceptible to bacteria and mould. Polyester is soft, hypoallergenic and prevents skin irritations and allergic reactions. Therefore, it is a safe material choice for babies' and children's sensitive skin.
Polyester is wrinkle-free, colourfast, dimensionally stable, light, easy to wash and quick drying. In addition, 100% recyclable polyester is an environmentally conscious choice.
Choose a fitted sheet of the same size as your mattress. For Essential and Evolution you can use an ordinary AeroSleep fitted sheet. For the Premium mattress, choose a Premium AeroSleep fitted sheet, which leaves room to incline the mattress.
Safety
We do not recommend putting your baby to bed with a hot water bottle.
A hot water bottle is very hot, which can cause overheating. There is always a risk of the hot water bottle leaking and your baby getting hot water all over itself. A cosy sleeping bag is the best way to dress your child for a safe, warm night.
Afraid your child will be cold? Know that the layer of air in the mattress pad takes over the room temperature. If the bedroom is really too cold, you can pre-heat the cot with a hot water bottle or cherry pit pillow. Remove the hot water bottle when you put your baby to bed. The most important thing is to dress your baby according to the correct TOG values with an appropriate sleeping bag.
If you do put your child to bed with a hot water bottle and the hot water bottle leaks, AeroSleep 3D technology certainly does not add to the risk. On the contrary! The 3D structure will immediately drain the water to the absorbent underlayer, so your baby and the mattress are protected and stay dry.
No worries, the 3D technology allows your baby to sleep on a layer of air, but has no cooling function. The 3D structure allows free circulation of air around your baby's body. The air layer in the mattress protector will thus take over the room temperature. When it is warm, this ensures that your baby does not overheat (like on a cotton or synthetic mattress protector). When cold, it is enough to dress your baby appropriately in a cozy winter sleeping bag.
